Barcelona push again for Bastoni: Inter’s wall could start to crack
The Catalan club is back in the race for the Nerazzurri defender: Marotta’s jab and Flick’s apology could change the picture.
Barcelona have renewed their interest in Alessandro Bastoni. The Inter defender is reportedly back on the Catalan club’s radar, with Barcelona ready to step up their efforts to convince him. A transfer scenario that had appeared difficult could now take a different direction from the one seen in the past.
Two previous episodes are also part of the story: the jab made by Beppe Marotta and the subsequent apology from Hansi Flick. Relations have therefore not always been straightforward, but Barcelona’s renewed approach has reopened a track Inter will have to monitor closely. No figures or official bid have been reported at this stage. The key question is whether Bastoni would be willing to listen to the Spanish project.
The issue comes after Inter’s 3-1 derby defeat to Milan and before Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Feyenoord, scheduled for November 3 at 21:00. Bastoni remains an important player for Chivu’s side, which must respond in Europe before hosting Como on November 8 at 18:00.
