Venezia-Inter, Chivu pulls no punches: “I would have changed everyone”
The Nerazzurri coach comments on the 2-0 win over Venezia: “We were lucky.” He also admits his disappointment with the first half.
Inter’s 2-0 victory over Venezia did not satisfy Cristian Chivu in every respect. After Wednesday’s match on October 28, the Nerazzurri coach focused above all on the attitude shown by his team during the opening part of the game, even though the final result went Inter’s way.
Chivu acknowledged that his players had also benefited from good fortune: “We were lucky.” The coach was even more direct when discussing half-time, explaining that, if he had been able to make unlimited changes, he would have replaced the entire team. It was a severe assessment, delivered after a performance Chivu did not consider good enough, despite the two goals scored and the three points secured.
The win takes Inter into Saturday’s derby against Milan at 20:45 on October 31 in Serie A. The Nerazzurri come into the match after three consecutive official victories: 1-0 against Shakhtar in the Champions League, 2-1 against Fiorentina and 2-0 against Venezia. After the Rossoneri clash, Feyenoord-Inter will follow on November 3 at 21:00 in the Champions League.
