Van Bronckhorst: “To unsettle Inter, it would not have been enough...”

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has discussed Inter’s convincing victory away to Feyenoord. The Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win in Rotterdam, recorded in the Champions League match on 3 November, was at the centre of the former Dutch coach’s analysis as he tried to explain why Cristian Chivu’s team proved so difficult to hurt.

“ It seems easy, but to unsettle Inter we would have had to...”, reads the key passage highlighted in the interview’s headline. Van Bronckhorst’s reasoning therefore focuses on the solidity shown by the Nerazzurri and on Feyenoord’s need to find a different solution to change the course of the game. The final score nevertheless confirms Inter’s control, with the visitors completing the European trip without conceding.

The Rotterdam victory followed Inter’s 2-0 win at Venezia on 28 October and came after the 3-1 derby defeat against Milan on 31 October. Chivu’s team will now face Como in Serie A on Sunday 8 November at 18:00 at San Siro. The match will be the next test after the response produced in Europe.
