Paolillo to Inter: “The derby can be a turning point”
The former Nerazzurri executive sees the city clash as a chance to end the drought and also discusses the FIGC presidency.
The Milan derby could become the ideal moment for a change of direction. Ernesto Paolillo has focused attention on Inter’s meeting with Milan, scheduled for Saturday, October 31 at 8:45 p.m., stressing the need to win the city clash again. In his remarks, he also addressed the issue of the FIGC presidency, taking his analysis beyond the pitch.
The message directed at the Nerazzurri is clear: after a run of derbies without the desired result, Paolillo believes the time has come to reverse the trend. His assessment therefore places the local rivalry at the centre of the team’s path and identifies the match against Milan as a particularly important fixture. On the federation front, Paolillo also shared his views on the leadership of the FIGC, without restricting his comments to the sporting eve alone.
Inter enter the contest after three straight wins: a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar in the Champions League on October 21, a 2-1 win against Fiorentina on October 25 and a 2-0 success at Venezia on October 28. The next fixture is therefore the Serie A derby against Milan, set for 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 31.
