Lazio beat Parma 2-1, Gattuso goes top: Inter must respond
Lazio defeat Parma and move alone to the top of Serie A. Inter face Fiorentina at San Siro today.
Lazio defeated Parma 2-1 in the Serie A match played on the eve of Inter’s fixture. The result carries significant weight for the Biancocelesti, who move alone to the top of the table thanks to the three points and put pressure on Inter.
The victory belongs to Gattuso’s side, which overcame Parma by a narrow margin but secured its objective. The 2-1 scoreline changes the balance at the top and gives Lazio a leading position while the other championship contenders wait to respond.
Inter’s meeting with Fiorentina is scheduled for today, Sunday 25 October, at 12:30. The Nerazzurri are coming off a 3-1 Serie A win over Bologna and a 1-0 Champions League victory against Shakhtar, following the 4-3 defeat to Club Brugge. Chivu’s team therefore has the chance to react on the pitch and avoid losing touch with the summit. After Florence, the schedule includes Venezia-Inter on Wednesday 28 October at 18:30 and the derby against Milan on Saturday 31 October at 20:45.
