Lautaro stays at Appiano: no Argentina call-up, the captain steps up recovery
Inter captain Lautaro Martinez will not join Argentina and will continue working at Appiano to regain his best condition.
Lautaro Martinez will not travel with Argentina for the next international commitment. The Inter captain will remain at Appiano Gentile, where he will continue his individual work with the Nerazzurri staff. The decision represents an important step in the striker’s return process, as he aims to become fully available again without rushing the timetable.
His programme includes targeted training and a gradual management of workloads. Lautaro’s objective is to regain his best condition and soon make himself available to Cristian Chivu. The number 10 has already shown his determination to leave the physical issue behind, but the club prefers to guide his return cautiously. Staying at Appiano will allow him to work every day under the supervision of Inter’s staff.
The decision comes during a delicate phase for Inter. After victories against Fiorentina and Venezia, the Nerazzurri lost the derby 3-1 to Milan. This evening, Tuesday 3 November at 21:00, Feyenoord-Inter will be played in Rotterdam in the Champions League. Lautaro’s recovery therefore remains important ahead of the next fixtures, starting with the Serie A match against Como on 8 November.
