Inter, victory over Shakhtar brings in another UEFA prize
The San Siro win strengthens Inter’s European campaign financially as well: here is what changes after the 1-0 result.
Inter added another positive result to its European campaign by beating Shakhtar 1-0. The match was played at San Siro on Wednesday, October 21, and beyond the three points it generated an economic return for the Nerazzurri. Every victory in the continental competition contributes to the club’s income linked to its Champions League campaign.
The prize is added to the revenue already earned by Inter in the tournament. The amount awarded after the success against the Ukrainian side is connected to UEFA’s system for rewarding results achieved in the league phase. The figure therefore has a double significance: it strengthens the sporting record while also increasing the resources available to the club, including for the transfer market.
The victory came after the 3-4 home defeat against Club Brugge on October 13 and followed the 3-1 Serie A win at Bologna on October 17. The next fixture will again be at San Siro: on Sunday, October 25 at 12:30, Inter will face Fiorentina in the league before travelling to Venezia and Milan.
