Inter took an encouraging signal from their latest European away match: Djed Spence provided an assist and was named MVP in the 3-0 victory over Feyenoord, played in Rotterdam on 3 November. The performance puts the spotlight back on an English wing-back who has so far been looking for a bigger role in the Nerazzurri project.

Spence’s contribution, however, does not alter Inter’s overall record in front of goal among their transfer-market arrivals. The players brought in during the window have still not scored, leaving the tally at zero. The comparison with Milan is striking, at least regarding the attacking output of their new signings: the Rossoneri have already reached 16 goals. Spence’s assist is therefore a step forward, but not yet the breakthrough Inter were waiting for.

Inter can nevertheless build on their European response after the 3-1 derby defeat on 31 October and the previous 2-0 win over Venezia on 28 October. Their next fixture is on Sunday 8 November at 18:00, at San Siro against Como: another chance to turn individual signs of progress into attacking production.
