Inter, Jones: “We are a Champions League team”
The Nerazzurri midfielder backs Inter’s project and explains why he continues to take risks with the ball under pressure.
Curtis Jones has reaffirmed his belief in Inter’s project. The Nerazzurri midfielder considers the team fully capable of competing in the Champions League, an objective that, in his words, influenced his decision to move to Milan. His comments come as Inter prepare for their next league fixture.
Jones explained that he wants to remain proactive even in the most difficult situations. The player does not intend to avoid taking players on or making ambitious passes when pressure rises, even if teammates or members of the coaching staff may criticise those choices. It is a clear description of his approach to the role: personality, initiative and the willingness to accept some risk in order to build attacks.
For Inter, the statement follows the 1-0 win over Shakhtar on 21 October, after the 4-3 defeat against Club Brugge on 13 October. The next fixture is against Fiorentina at San Siro on Sunday 25 October at 12:30, followed by Venezia away on 28 October and the Milan derby on 31 October.
