Inter, Chivu looks to youth: four players ready for Venezia

Cristian Chivu is preparing for the trip to face Venezia while also looking toward Inter’s youth setup. The coach has identified four young players ready to enter the Nerazzurri rotation in today’s Serie A match, Wednesday 28 October 2026, at 18:30. The group includes Lavelli and Jakirovic, two options who could provide support during the league fixture.

The decision reflects the management of a crowded schedule and gives the club’s younger players a genuine opportunity to move closer to the first team. Lavelli has already been promoted by Chivu, while Inter previously chose to protect his development by rejecting several proposals. Jakirovic is another prospect being monitored closely by the coach, alongside the other two members of the group selected for the match in Venice.

Inter enter the game after three straight wins: 3-1 at Bologna on 17 October, 1-0 against Shakhtar in the Champions League on 21 October and 2-1 over Fiorentina on 25 October. After Venezia, the Nerazzurri will face Milan on Saturday 31 October at 20:45 and Feyenoord on Tuesday 3 November at 21:00.
