Icardi linked with Inter: Marotta’s position
The former Nerazzurri captain is back at the centre of transfer rumours. Marotta has clarified Inter’s stance on the possibility.
The transfer market has brought Mauro Icardi back into discussions surrounding Inter. The Argentine striker, formerly the Nerazzurri captain and centre-forward, has been linked with a possible return to Milan, while Lazio also appear in the background. The club’s position has been connected to the assessments of president Giuseppe Marotta.
The issue highlights the need to separate the player’s value from the current technical project. Icardi knows both the environment and the league, but any return would require evaluations regarding his role, the terms of the deal and the club’s attacking strategy. According to the report, Marotta has not turned the possibility into negotiations: the name therefore remains a transfer suggestion rather than a defined operation. Inter continue to control their decisions and no official agreement has emerged.
Cristian Chivu’s team come into the match against Como after a 3-0 Champions League victory over Feyenoord on November 3, following the 3-1 defeat to Milan on October 31. The next fixture is on Sunday, November 8, at 18:00, at San Siro against Como 1907: any assessment of the attack will also depend on the needs of the current season.
