Feyenoord-Inter, Chivu considers Thuram-Pio Esposito partnership
Ahead of the Champions League trip to Rotterdam, the Inter coach is considering using Thuram and Pio Esposito together.
Cristian Chivu is studying a new attacking solution for Inter. According to Sky Sport, ahead of the trip to face Feyenoord, the Nerazzurri coach is considering starting Marcus Thuram and Pio Esposito together. The match will be played on Tuesday, November 3, at 9:00 p.m. at De Kuip in Rotterdam, on Matchday 4 of the Champions League.
The idea comes amid the team’s attacking needs and the search for greater sharpness after the derby defeat to Milan. Thuram would be the more experienced focal point, while Pio Esposito could play alongside him by providing physical presence and strength inside the box. Chivu will make his final decision in the hours before the European fixture. Should both forwards start, their partnership would be one of the main changes to Inter’s lineup.
Inter enter the European appointment after three different league results: a 2-1 win over Fiorentina, a 2-0 victory away to Venezia and a 3-1 defeat against Milan. The Nerazzurri must now focus on Feyenoord before returning to Serie A on Sunday, November 8, at 6:00 p.m. against Como at San Siro.
