Fabregas crowns Inter: “They are Italy’s strongest team”
The Como coach recognises the Nerazzurri’s superiority and discusses Cassano’s surprising call-up to the national team.
Cesc Fabregas has identified Inter as the main benchmark in Italian football. The Como coach, ahead of the Serie A meeting with the Nerazzurri, acknowledged that Chivu’s team is operating at a higher level than its rivals. It is a significant endorsement from the Como manager, who is preparing to face a side coming off a convincing Champions League victory.
During his remarks, Fabregas called Inter “the strongest team in Italy”. The coach also discussed Cassano’s call-up to the national team, admitting that the selection surprised him before adding a qualification introduced by a “but”, without diminishing the importance of the decision. His comments nevertheless confirm the respect reserved for Inter’s squad and its ability to compete at the highest level.
Inter enter the match against Como after beating Venezia 2-0, losing the derby 3-1 to Milan and then defeating Feyenoord 3-0 in the Champions League. The next fixture is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, at 18:00: at San Siro, the Nerazzurri will face Como in Serie A matchday 11.
