Como, Fabregas leaves the nine goals behind: “I want the real team against Inter”
The European rout is already in the past: the Como coach sees San Siro as the test of his team’s true level.
The nine goals scored in the Champions League are not enough for Cesc Fabregas. The Como coach has already put the European rout behind him and is turning his attention to the match at San Siro against Inter, scheduled for Sunday, November 8 at 18:00. His aim is to see a team able to confirm its ambitions on the pitch, even against a top-level opponent.
Fabregas’ message is clear: the European result belongs to the past, while the match against the Nerazzurri must show Como’s real level. The nine goals are an obvious statistic, but the coach does not want them to become either a finishing line or an excuse. The trip to Milan will therefore be a different test, both technically and in terms of personality.
Inter arrive after a 3-1 defeat in the derby against Milan, but reacted in the Champions League with a 0-3 win away to Feyenoord on November 3. After Como, Cristian Chivu’s side will face Atalanta on November 22 at 20:45 and then Stuttgart in the Champions League at San Siro on November 25 at 21:00.
