Chivu jokes about pressure: “With good results, no hospital for me”
The Inter coach uses irony to discuss the pressure of the job and the Nerazzurri’s positive run before the derby.
Cristian Chivu used irony to describe the pressure attached to being a coach ahead of the Milan-Inter derby. The Nerazzurri boss linked his peace of mind on the bench to the team’s results, adding a joke about the toll that pressure can take on some of his colleagues.
“If the results are good, I won’t end up in hospital like some colleagues,” Chivu said. It was a light-hearted remark, delivered in a demanding context: the derby comes with Inter having won three straight matches between Serie A and the Champions League. The Nerazzurri beat Shakhtar 1-0, then defeated Fiorentina 2-1 and Venezia 2-0.
There is no break in Inter’s schedule. Milan-Inter will be played on Saturday, October 31, at 20:45, in the 10th round of Serie A. After the San Siro clash, Chivu’s team will return to the Champions League on Tuesday, November 3, at 21:00 away to Feyenoord. The next league fixture is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, at 18:00 against Como.
