Chivu ahead of the derby: “Carlos Augusto was not feeling well”
The Inter coach discussed recoveries, Carlos Augusto’s condition and the goalkeeper choice for the match against Milan.
After Wednesday’s 2-0 victory away to Venezia, Cristian Chivu was already looking ahead to Saturday’s derby. During his press conference, the Inter coach discussed the players working their way back to fitness and the decision over who will start in goal against Milan.
One of the updates concerned Carlos Augusto, whose physical condition had drawn attention: Chivu explained that the Brazilian was not feeling well. The coach also answered questions about the goalkeeper who will defend Inter’s goal in the derby and spoke about Filip Stankovic, who featured in the match at the Penzo. His comments came after an away performance in which the Nerazzurri scored twice and kept a clean sheet.
Inter go into the meeting with Milan on the back of three straight wins: 1-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, 2-1 against Fiorentina and 2-0 at Venezia. The derby is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, at 20:45. Four days later, Inter will visit Feyenoord in the Champions League, before hosting Como on November 8.
