Chivu after Inter-Fiorentina: “The comeback proved us right”
The Nerazzurri coach reflects on the 2-1 win over Fiorentina and highlights the team’s reaction during the match.
Cristian Chivu commented on Inter’s 2-1 Serie A victory over Fiorentina, recorded today, Sunday 25 October 2026. The Nerazzurri coach focused above all on the team’s ability to respond to difficulties and complete another comeback, an important feature of Inter’s afternoon.
“We were rewarded,” Chivu explained while discussing comebacks. In the coach’s view, the group’s response confirmed the value of the work carried out during the match: Inter continued looking for solutions and turned the momentum of the game into three points. The statement comes after an intense week, which began with a 3-1 win at Bologna and continued with a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar in the Champions League.
The schedule offers no pause. On Wednesday 28 October at 18:30, Inter will visit Venezia on Serie A matchday nine. The derby against Milan follows on Saturday 31 October at 20:45, while the Nerazzurri will face Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday 3 November at 21:00. Chivu’s team must therefore handle three close fixtures while maintaining consistency and its ability to react.
