Carlos Augusto, Chivu’s extra weapon: his impact tops Bastoni and Dimarco

Carlos Augusto has earned a leading role in Cristian Chivu’s Inter. The Brazilian, used consistently on the flank and increasingly involved in both phases, is described by Corriere della Sera as the Nerazzurri’s extra weapon. His development has made him an almost indispensable presence in the coach’s plans.

The most significant point concerns his overall contribution: according to the newspaper’s analysis, Carlos Augusto’s output is greater than that produced together by Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco. His value is therefore not limited to attacking runs and quality in the final third, but also includes balance and reliability. His profile is now considered central, while the club continues to work on extending his contract, an issue closely followed in recent weeks.

Inter head into Sunday’s match against Fiorentina, on October 25 at 12:30, after a 1-0 win over Shakhtar and a 3-1 victory at Bologna. Before that, they had lost 4-3 to Club Brugge in the Champions League. The Fiorentina game begins a week that will also include the trip to Venice on October 28 and the derby on October 31.
