Bastoni: “Inter must be earned every day”, a message about the future

Alessandro Bastoni has underlined the meaning of belonging to Inter with clear words. In an interview published by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the defender stressed that the Nerazzurri shirt cannot be considered a permanent achievement: “Inter must be earned every day.” It is a call for personal responsibility, arriving during a delicate phase for the team after the derby defeat against Milan.

Bastoni then broadened the discussion to the priorities of modern football. According to the centre-back, “many players think more about contracts to negotiate” than about their performance and the daily need to prove their value. His message therefore concerns attitude, motivation and consistency: wearing the Inter shirt requires constant commitment, regardless of negotiations and personal prospects.

The defender’s words come after the 3-1 defeat suffered against Milan on October 31 and on the eve of the next official fixture. On Tuesday, November 3, at 21:00, Inter will visit Feyenoord Rotterdam in the fourth round of the Champions League. Cristian Chivu’s team also beat Fiorentina and Venezia, but must react immediately in Europe.
