Bastoni-Barcelona, the interest returns: the defender wants assurances

Barcelona are once again looking towards Milan and have revived their interest in Alessandro Bastoni. The Inter defender has been linked with the Catalan club again, but his future will not depend only on the offers on the table. Before making a decision, the centre-back wants to understand what role Hansi Flick would give him in his plans.

The request for assurances from the German coach is the key point in the situation. Bastoni would not be inclined to leave Inter without certainty over the sporting project and his place within the Barcelona team. In the background there is also the issue of his renewal with the Nerazzurri, a matter that could return to the club’s agenda as Barcelona assess whether the operation is feasible.

Inter enter this renewed international attention after beating Venezia 2-0, losing the derby 3-1 to Milan and then winning 3-0 in Rotterdam against Feyenoord in the Champions League. Their next fixture is on Sunday 8 November at 18:00, at San Siro against Como, in Serie A before the international break.
